How long are the sessions?
Sessions are scheduled to be 50 minutes. For the initial session, typically they will be 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. For couples, sessions are based upon a 50 minute session, with the option of having a 1.5 session, which is 80 minutes.
What to expect in the 1st session?
During your first session, your clinician’s primary focus will be to understand your concerns and collaborate with you to develop treatment goals. This session is an opportunity for you to learn more about your therapist and determine if they are the right fit for you, while also allowing them to get to know you. Together, you’ll explore what brought you to therapy and how they can best support you.
What can be expected from the counseling sessions?
Clients can expect to develop greater self-awareness, strengthen relationships, improve emotional regulation, and navigate personal challenges. Throughout this journey, they can cultivate positive behavioral changes, and explore their values and potentials while setting meaningful life goals.
The effectiveness of therapy is influenced by various factors, including the client’s commitment, the quality of the therapeutic relationship, and the appropriateness of the chosen approach. To achieve the best results, therapy goals and expectations should be openly discussed and collaboratively defined between the client and the counselor.
Do you accept insurance?
For most insurance providers who cover psychotherapy/counseling most only cover individual psychotherapy/counseling. Crosspoint does not work directly with most insurer providers, but provides you a receipt that can be used for your insurer to reimburse you. Some insurance companies want additional information on our receipt than what is normally on there. We will work with you to make sure your insurer has the information they need. If there are further requirements, we will discuss them with you and provide all the assistance we are able.
